Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about our service.

MTH1W is Ontario's destreamed Grade 9 math course, replacing the old Academic/Applied split. It covers the same foundational strands — number sense, algebra, and financial literacy — at a single, unified level for every Grade 9 student.

Yes — MHF4U (Advanced Functions) and MCV4U (Calculus & Vectors) are prerequisites or strongly recommended for most University of Waterloo Math, Engineering, and Science programs. We help you confirm exactly what your target program requires.

Starting 2026-27, Ontario is reintroducing mandatory final exams weighted at 20% of the final grade in Grades 9-10 and 25% in Grades 11-12. That's a real shift for students who haven't written a heavily-weighted final before — we build exam-specific practice into every plan.

We focus on the exact gaps holding your child back — not a generic syllabus — so sessions convert directly into stronger marks and less time spent stuck on homework. A free consultation is the easiest way to see where your child actually stands before committing to anything.
